July 18, 2012: Goodies from Korea

My mother just got back home from Korea! And, she brought back some goodies for me.

~Fashionable Korean Goodies~

Clockwise, top left to middle: Knit Sweater (Unknown Brand), Powder Blue Cardigan and Off Shoulder Shirt (GGPX New York), Nail Polish (Missha), Compact Powder (Missha), BB Cream (Missha), Umbrella (Shinzi Katoh), Dress Extensions, Cardigan (Lora Fashion), Sandals (Ssamzie).

--Pictures Edited with Photovisi.com--

Clockwise: Red Bean Bread (Fauchon), Hanbok Bookmarks, Jasmine Flavored Mints (MintQ)

Well, that's all. I didn't really think my mom was going to bring back anything since, well... Korea's expensive.

Off to sketch,

April 18, 2012

It's been over a month and I am back in the blogging world.

I've seriously missed this since I've been busy with school. And when I say busy, I had been horribly busy. Whoever said that accounting was gonna be easy well, let me just kick their ass!

I know I said that I was going to post about our plant visit to Pepsi and the Philippine Daily Inquirer. But... I went back through it in my mind, it was pretty boring. The highlight of my trip was actually going to Alabang Town Center with my college friends, and we ordered Hapadog. But, right after my last exam, I had fun bowling with my friends, I could just find one "normal" picture from my friend's Facebook.

~how do you hold a bowling ball again?~

I was supposed to post yesterday but I had done a half a day of shopping, my head was pounding and got sidetracked with watching my new fave series, Jane By Design. Honestly, it's not the most amazing series ever but I'm so caught up with it because it's something I began.

Now, I decided that I'd begin again today because I've done some shopping for the summer and the next term. Call it a mini shopping spree or whatever. I am in no way a fashion blogger so yes, my clothes and make up choice, may not be up to the latest style or whatever. LOL.

~Aqua Tinted BB Cream and Powder Brush from The Face Shop~

Seriously, I've heard so much talk about BB creams in Youtube make-up videos, commercials and from my Facebook that I thought I'd try out one. This was recently shown in Bubzbeauty's Korean Haul and when I saw it at The Face Shop, I took one up without second guessing myself. I do trust Bubz's advice since so far most have gone real good for me.

~ Blue with Ribbon Ballet Flats from Payless, Lower East Side~

Before this shopping spree, I've own just one pair of ballet flats and about atleast three pairs of sneakers. Thinking that I'd need a good pair of flats for business presentations and such for school, I bought an affordable yet amazingly cute pair from Payless. I shop there so much that I'm used to trying way too much then buying just a pair.

~Blue 19 Jersey Shirt and Neon Mint Polo from Just G~

~Same Neon Mint Polo from Just G and a White Undershirt from Kisses & Co.~

Truly, I am a big fan of Just G. If I didn't go there first, I probably would've purchased more than I need then I'd come back home thinking I've bought way too much. But if I could, I would've bought out their dresses, it's just that right now I'm planning on buying something else from a store somewhere.

My mother brought back these two patterns for me 'cause she noticed that I've been wearing dresses more. And since, it's blazing hot here in the Philippines, dresses are more comfy to wear and so, I'm having these two patterns turned into my two fave dresses. I'm not exactly where they are from but they seem really interesting. I love small patterns since they're not so "in-your-face"; their subtlety is really "dainty", I guess.

~Candy Pink Short from Lee~

Ah, I just love candy colored shorts. I don't know if they still count as denim but it's the same texture. It's summertime here and I feel like the color is so "Katy Perry" that I loved this color most than the other available colors. Then, I went thinking, oh God, what to wear with this? Then, apparently a lot of dark colors look good and for a more "fun" feel, I might pair it with the Neon Polo from Just G.

~Tea Tree Oil and Tea Tree Toner from The Body Shop~

Because of stressing out from the past months, I've broken out so much that I feel like I'll never get back to having a smooth face. Good thing that my mother brought me in with her to The Body Shop. The lady saw that I needed these so that I could go back to the milky smooth skin and maintain it with the toner. The little one is an oil that helps to dry up a pimple in 48 hours (according to the lady). Both are applied twice a day, in the morning and at night.

I bought these yesterday, and from the overnight use. My face have gotten so much better. This is an absolute must try if you want to get and maintain a smooth and less breakout-prone face.

~Colorful Wooden Beaded Rosary from Guadalupe~

People who have known me for long know that I own a colorful beaded bracelet from our parish priest. But, wearing it everyday made it very delicate and instead of breaking it totally, I bought one from Guadalupe. It's got a lot more color than the older one but nonetheless, it looks really cute and appropriate for me.

AAAANNNDD, CUT!

I've truly missed blogging and I want to say so much about how bad I feel for not passing all of my majors even though I sacrificed blogging. But, I thought I'd begin with this happy tune. This summer, I plan to share more hobbies with all of you so that we do not get bored this summer.

Blogger, I missed you!

Because life could never be complete without a little bit of art.

~Photo of the Day: Capucine~

I'll never be able to live life without creating atleast one doodle a week.

And, I'm getting a tad bit obsessed with these nail stickers. I now have a different pair every other week.

Because, I want to catch up on sleep.

Catching up on a lot of Zzzs,

January 24, 2012

I'm running out of things to talk about lately.

So, hi! Where should I start? Hmmm, this is hard. I should ask for people to give me topics to talk about next time.

~Photo of the Day: Seriously, a beauty post?~

I found this topic on Yahoo! Philippines, and obviously there's already an article about it. I'll just give out opinions or advice, whether I've done it or not, and all that stuff. Basically, this is another beauty post. Here's the article I'm talking about... "Beauty Myths, Busted"

Menstrual Blood... On your Face. EW! I never did this no matter what my mother and grandmother said when I had my period for the first time. It really is gross and gosh, I can't even imagine myself doing that.
Cure? To get clearer skin, I believe one should choose their own cleanser (in my case I use oatmeal or Dove, never Ponds because I'm horribly allergic), exfoliate, and drink lots of water. We should all know that drinking water keeps us moisturized. Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells so that the healthy skin cells would come out. I exfoliate once every two weeks or when the event calls for it.

Chocolates = Acne. Not always. It depends really on how your body reacts to certain foods. I get a lot of pimples eating nuts, because I abuse the nuts by eating more than a handful every time it's available. Not a good idea everyone. But, I do eat chocolate a lot of times before and it doesn't necessarily equal to pimples. Some are just a tad bit more sensitive when it comes to chocolate. As to nuts, the same applies that it's all up to your diet. It's very safe to say that chestnuts do not cause me much acne. Cashew nuts have a very little affect on me. And, peanuts, including peanut butter, give me the most problem.
Conclusion. Know what types of food go best with your body. Your face's condition, whether it takes on rashes or acne, will let you know what you ate wrong. If it's your favorite food, try eating less of it.

Toothpastes Kill Pimples. It does the job of drying it up but it's the best remedy for it. I'd rather go on with my day with a pimple than trying to kill it with a dab of toothpaste. Because, toothpastes have a very bad history when it comes to me. Toothpastes have chemicals that are ready to prevent cavities and clean out your mouth. Now, if that  pea-sized thing can somehow kill 99.9% of germs, I have a feeling that it'll kill your skin cells too, especially those with sensitive skin.
Cure? Use a cream or gel that's especially for pimples. Don't try experimenting with lipsticks, toothpastes and do not poke it. Go to a dermatologist if it gets worse. They know what they're doing.

Brush you Hair... A Hundred Times. I've read a lot of articles disproving this thought. I am too lazy to actually count to one hundred while brushing my hair. At most, I go for fifty but not always. The reason is because the more you brush, your hair will get totally abused. It's like when you try to take away a stain, you end up ruining your clothes instead.
Conclusion. Brush your hair 'til it shines. No more, no less.
Pores Shrinkage. I am totally worried about this because, though I love my dad, he doesn't exactly have the best skin. That's why I really freak out when it comes to my face. The size of your pores are claimed genetically so you're not at fault... your parents are.
Cure? Use cleansers and toners. Toners help your pores to "close" when you've done some exfoliation or pimple removal. And, lay off of whatever could cause you acne.
Well, these are usually Pinay myths. I've heard all of these in my own lifetime. One that I know of is, using calamansi or lemon to remove dandruff (tried that, it stings and not a very good remedy). With the pollution in Manila, I suggest you be very careful when you commute. Pollution is [like] the habitat for bad skin. So, keep a daily regimen for a healthy skin, some people need more products, and some need less, every person reacts to a product.

Stay pretty everyone.

Packing... again.

~Photo of the Day: Baggage~

This seems to be the third adventure I've gone to since I turned 18. I am so excited and because of that, I don't think I'll be able to keep my promise to myself about the layout change for my blog. I'm having a really hard time on choosing from different websites because I want the blog to be as simple as the one I have now but a lot more personalized. Maybe I'll do the change when I actually learn how to do this... or find someone who does.

Anyway, I'm supposedly packing for Boracay... yea! And, I have absolutely no idea what to wear. What do you wear when you're celebrating the New Year's at the beach. Obviously, swim wear and stuff like pajamas but the daytime/nighttime wear. I'm so confused, I don't even have a pair of shades!

~Oatmeal~

Remember when I said. I had rashes on my face? well its gone now thanks to Bubz's oatmeal mask. if you want to try it, go to Youtube and type in "Bubz oatmeal mask". It should come out as the first suggestion entitled "Beautiful Skin Remedy".

Gotta get to packing,
AnaRay

So yea, me and my sis will be going to bora tomorrow. So I think my sis will be a bit conscious of her skin. As well as me XD .

Recovering,

December 4, 2011

Rainy December morning = forever asleep.

Unfortunately, I couldn't appreciate the bed weather 'cause we spontaneously thought, "Let's go to the salon!" And, spend money on our hair that will grow in two weeks. I love it when I get a hair spa, it's just so cool and refreshing. Plus, I was texting with April the whole time, I was so sabaw (kinda like being random) that I couldn't get my facts straight when someone texted me an accounting problem.

So, we stayed in the salon for more or less three hours. Yes, THREE HOURS worth of just doing stuff to our hair. In the end though, I must say I've never had my hair look like this.

~Photo of the Day: Highlights~

Congratulations Ana! Your hair just lost its virginity to a bunch of highlights. Everyone told me that the color wouldn't stick to my hair that much, my hair thought it'd be fun to mess with their minds. So yea, the highlights are stronger than I thought they'd be.

People watch The Road. See, I like horror movies with a twist and this one in particular I still can't piece together. Either I'm really confused by everything or it really is confusing. Someone please explain!

Will try to sleep in my own room,

It's the second day of December!

Pretty things. These are the second in the twenty five things that make me happy. So what defines pretty, well anything really.

~Photo of the Day: Pretty-fier~

The easiest treatment for the face. Seriously, all you have to do is leave it on your face overnight and then rinse it off tomorrow. Then, magic! my face feels like it's been totally pampered and it's all smooth and soft. What's so good about it is that I bought this for like I think around five hundred pesos, but it's so big and yea, I've tried it before.

Now, if you just wanna give it one go. Like have a trial version of it, they're literally masks that you place on your face for like twenty-thirty minutes, or until the moisturizing mask is dry. It's a one time use and usually they just come in for free. But, they totally pamper your face for like two days.

Hmmm, it's a girly post... yes. I'll show something else next time. I don't want this to be too much on the girly side.

What good deed have you done?

I went shopping!

Not exactly a big time kind of shopping but I love holding a lot of paper bags. So, holding three paper bags was fun for me. Why exactly did I feel like shopping? Because, today was an AWESOME day even though it was raining!

Apparently, my Law class was cancelled today. THANK GOD! because I was gonna be real late and I still had to make our script for the my Bible class skit. And, my Bible professor, who is actually a Sister, liked our presentation even though it was a bit rushed. Then, my Accounting professor shows our midterm grades and I... I... I PASSED! (so far) Lastly, Human Behaviors class went by like zoom.

So to end the day, I felt like shopping because I needed a purple dress for a debut tomorrow and I wanted something to be like my "reward".

~Photo of the Day: Korean Treasures~

I went back to where I thought I'd never go back to... Etude House to buy some girly things. Well, it was fun looking at all the stuff and I ended up buying a few stuff. But, the photo actually shows all my "Made in Korea" treasures.

I felt really happy today that I bought my brother some munchkins! Tip to everyone: When I'm happy, find me. I'll buy you what you want... if I have the money.

Hoping that this day would continue to be an awesome day.

~Photo of the Day: Yay! a starter puff.~

Today, I slept at 3:30 am simply because of my insomnia.

This post is going to have waaaay too many pictures. (^_^)

Anyway, I had my hair chopped off because it was getting a lot heavier and harder to maintain. And since I wanted a new style, I'd gone to Angelo Falconi III Salon and had my hair cut. The difference? See for yourself. My hair's straight again because they used a hair dryer, but I hope that it doesn't stay as straight.

Before

After

It's been a busy Sunday, waking up early for Mass then after lunch we headed to the Salon to get haircuts, and bake freaking cream puffs with custard filling. This is actually the second time we've done this so hopefully, it'll turn out good.

September 24, 2011

I had my workshop today! We talked about how to land a job interview and all that... It was fun really, the speaker kept it interactive for all of us.

I learned a lot, like keeping nails clean, and minimal make up which brings us to the topic of...

Make up.

Do any of you happen to know make-up? I mean, totally know how to apply and whatever? Because, all I know is the powder, lip gloss and eyeliner. When it comes to cheek tint and blush, mascara, uhmm... the one for the eyebrows, I'm just lost. (^_^) ahahaha, so yea, not much about make up since I myself have no idea what to do with those.

Change in Topic: Nail Polish

Well, anyway... I know how to use nail polish very much. I do a couple of designs usually Korean/Japanese artist inspired, meaning it's a bit more eccentric like glitters on one finger each hand, or a different color for the middle finger. (^o^) Like I have in my profile, I love colors and so the evolution of my nails. I do get impatient waiting for the paint to dry so I usually put on a movie and I'm distracted for the time.

I could seriously do a lot of designs kinda like the nail art you see on TV or those that are printed on the nails but it takes so much time that I end up usually doing one or two fingers, to make it look "unique" truth be told, I just got lazy finishing it all!

I JUST GOT HOME AT 8:30 PM. (-_-)Zzz...

The most viewed post on this blog was... the winter fashion. Apparently, a lot of people care about fashion. (^_^)

But, I can't talk about fashion all day... I mean, yea, I love fashion but not to the point that I talk about it everyday. Really, I'm spending my afternoon somewhere boring because I have to wait for my law class at 6pm. My last class for the day was supposed to be at 2:30pm so that means that I have exactly 3 hours and 30 minutes worth of break. What will I be doing with this time? I don't know. (T_T)

Then, let's see what else is the most talked about in the Web. According to this site Top 10 Most Talked About Topics on the Web, they are Health, Games, Auto and Moto, IT and Tech, Sports, Home and Recreation, Music, Cinema, Love and Family, and Women, in order.

~Photo of Top 10 Most Popular Topics on the Web
from Synthesio - International Web Monitoring and Research~
so, it's probably legit. (~_^)

Then, let's talk about health... Or what I know that's connected to it. All that would probably be coming out of my mouth are beauty tips (and usually they're not the buy this product blah blah blah), I guess?

P.S. I'm not citing sources, and that's usually bad but these things are just tips I got from people and personal experience, don't sue me please. (^_^)

TIP#1: Sleep. Yea, it's overrated but I'm not telling you to do the whole eight hours, some people could live with just four hours, and some people need like ten hours worth.

TIP#2: Drink water! Yea, best be hydrated than dehydrated but don't be overhydrated (is this even a word?) or waterlogged because you'll have a drop on sodium(?) or salt. Our body needs salt, and we could have too much if we don't drink water and have not much if we drink too much.

TIP#3: Using oatmeal as a face moisturizer or use an oatmeal soap. Yea yea, I had the same reaction of WTF?! but, my little brother came home one day from his field trip and he presented me with the soap saying, "Ate Ana, sabi ng nagbebenta nito maganda raw 'to sa face." In English, "Big sister Ana, the seller told me that this is good for the face." So, yeah... don't selling things to my brother he usually buys it. (^o^) But, it was really effective! I had smooth and soft face then... Now, I can't find such a soap. (T_T)

~Photo of the Day: beauty tips
(images from Google, edited in pixlr.com)~

TIP#4: Wear sunglasses when going out to a very sunny place. This reduces dark circles around your eyes, plus it prevents wrinkles. This is because, the skin around our eyes are very sensitive so do not put too much stress on them.

TIP#5: Use the warm then cold method. This is for when you're washing your face. You use warm water to wet your face, this is so that the pores would open. Then, you use whatever soap or facial you use. Lastly, rinse with cold water because this closes the pores. Long story short, no pimples. Because you open the pores first to release the oils then you close them afterwards so that dirt will not enter. (^_^)

TIP#6: Exercise. Anything from running, swimming, or my personal favorite of power walking.

I know other tips but I'm not quite sure if it works on everyone... like don't put face powder after exercising? But, that's kinda obvious 'cause then your pores would be open thus, the effect of pimples. So! wash your face first.

Beginning to get sleepy... (-_-)Zzz
