January 21, 2013: Creating Them Rabbit Apples

Since I am starting this year healthy, here's a fun (and healthy) way of eating your apple. As they say, an apple a day keeps the doctor away!

Long time ago, I was a big big fan of anime and manga. I like to think that I've outgrown them but seriously, I haven't done so fully. Thus, the search for the cute ways to make things (especially food). Most would find these in bento boxes, and surely enough they're not that hard to make... Just a little imagination is all you need.

Introducing... the Rabbit Apple.

This has got to be the easiest. Simply slice an apple lengthwise, usually you end up with around eight slices. Then, make an indent the shape of a "V". Peel of the skin 'til you reach the "head" of your "rabbit". Now, you can pull out that "V" and you see the rabbit! Pat yourself behind your back 'cause the worst is finally over!

Shock this with cold water to maintain the height of the ears and carve out the remaining features. If you're not gonna eat this immediately, take a citrus fruit (like calamansi, lemons or oranges) and squeeze some of it to the exposed flesh so that the apple retains it's colors.

And, there you have it! 'Til I find something worthy to post again.

Chillin' out.

~Photo of the Day: Results are out, not so happy with this one~

Today started out with a very happy note because for once there wasn't a scheduled quiz. It rarely happens. Then, I got the results from my last quiz. I really do suck at solving problems, on the other hand, it's what I love to do. The challenge to actually do better with the problem solving is what makes me more determined to pass with flying colors.

I'm almost there

Cooking with an electric stove just might help me learn how to cook. I can now add pancakes to what I can cook. I am closer to my dream of actually being able to make my own compete breakfast. Because of the nonexistent fire.

The reason why I was not able to post on the day itself was because I was reading this story online. And gosh, it was such a rollercoaster of emotions and, I love it. It's not yet finished but it's worth the read. If you wanna give it a try, the title is More Than Anyone, written by templeton21 on Fictionpress. Here's the link: More Than Anyone, Chapter 1

Keep calm and read.

sometimes, you just gotta chill out.

Hiya friends!

~Photo of the Day: Automated Vendo Man?~

Meet our robot vendor for our cost accounting class. It wasn't supposed to be cute because it was actually not my design. It's just that I can't copy anything that has its own style. Like, I can't copy other toons and stuff like that but I have my own... errr... perspective or I add in my own style. So there, it turns out to be not the badass robot it should've been.

Well, on to today. Today, I finally cooked my very first dish. Bacon. Crispy crispy bacon. I love bacon and now I know how to cook it. I think the only reason why I had the guts to actually pull it off was because Jeth's condo has the electric stove and not the one that has flames coming out of the sides. I know, for a fact, that there is absolutely no need for oil to be able to cook bacon. But, I did not foresee that there would be so much oil jumping out and around the pan. It got harder to flip the strips. I made five pieces and Jeth took the cooking away from me to speed it up.

She also told me to cook the rice. Okay, so the rice cooker is more complicated than I thought it'd be. Really, I didn't know what the hell I was doing there because I never in my life "cooked" rice. Well yea, she never knew I was that stupid with the rice cooker. But, I managed to get it done after more time than it should have.

So to all who were eating in Jeth's condo at lunchtime, I'm not sure how good the stuff was (I thought it was good considering I didn't burn it) but I hoped you all liked it. Because, it really was my first time. Yay!

Tired for some reason,
AnaRay

i did my homework twice because i forgot i was already done with it.

Just finished my first exam three hours ago.

Anyway, I don't feel like talking about the Law so let me show you all the most amazing dogs in the world.

~Photo of the Day: Devon, Me and Mocha~
This was taken yesterday but it was already really late

I like having animals around 'cause I don't feel lonely when I know they're there. No wonder we have two birds and five stray cats who chose to live here. Sometimes I really do think I'm crazy because I talk to these animals, and yea... in my mind, they reply. We used to have two Pomeranian dogs with us but they moved out with our tita. She also acquired a Golden Retriever and I think just recently a Labrador. I used to be terrified of this big dog but now he just looks really goofy...

~Had to make a few edits because the lighting was sooo bad~

And yes, someone said that he looks like the dog from UP. And we have our little Simba, well he is a mighty little dog.

~Like a boss~

But that was last night, I just came from this little restaurant called Omakase, which means (says our waitress), Chef's Special. It's really good there, prices are much better and I don't really think it's very much publicized. And, they actually care about what the food looks like on the plate.

Oh Japanese food! Domo arigato, indeed. I feel so bloated right now. Two nights of eating like there's no tomorrow is making me have a big tummy. Graaahhh!!! I absolutely fell in love with almost all of the food, especially the Seaweed salad that my dad ordered. Then, the salmon and tuna melts in your mouth... Kyaaa! I will definitely go back there.

This restaurant deserves a THUMBS UP!

Must digest all that I ate,
AnaRay

i actually feel shy taking pictures of these places

~Photo of the Day: Yay! a starter puff.~

Today, I slept at 3:30 am simply because of my insomnia.

This post is going to have waaaay too many pictures. (^_^)

Anyway, I had my hair chopped off because it was getting a lot heavier and harder to maintain. And since I wanted a new style, I'd gone to Angelo Falconi III Salon and had my hair cut. The difference? See for yourself. My hair's straight again because they used a hair dryer, but I hope that it doesn't stay as straight.

Before

After

It's been a busy Sunday, waking up early for Mass then after lunch we headed to the Salon to get haircuts, and bake freaking cream puffs with custard filling. This is actually the second time we've done this so hopefully, it'll turn out good.

Saturday

October 1, 2011

It's the first of five Saturdays of October!

This year October has 5 Mondays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This Happens once every 823years. This is called money bags. So copy this to your status and money will arrive within 4days. Based on Chinese Feng Shui.

Anyway, it's raining... again. Currently, I'm watching Harry Potter and, I can't believe how old they've become. Oh, I'm really going to miss seeing the Weasley twins.

I actually found the books more interesting, well maybe it's because I let my imagination go free and the plot's a lot more complete. It gives you all that you need to get the WHOLE story of Harry Potter, unfortunately, I do not own such books and was only fortunate enough to have a friend (Mariz) who has all the books, plus my instant personal favorite The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

So much memories watching these movies again. In all honesty, I hated watching Harry Potter movies back then because they didn't make sense to me. But when I read the book, I fell more in sync with the whole storyline. J.K. Rowling, you got me into reading novels on magic and all that.

The Harry Potter series was seven of the first ten novels that I read, basically, it's what got me to start reading. Now, I own around twenty-seven books in my room, and sadly, I don't own a bookshelf. (T_T)

Let me show you what I've been doing, other than watching Harry Potter movies and going strolling down memory lane...

FOOD! Lots and lots of foood.... RAAAWR! (^_^)

Must be doing schoolwork,

a very unproductive day...

Thursday

September 22, 2011

I haven't posted a picture of me since I don't really like taking pictures of myself, so tendency is I put up pictures of what I see... So, topic for the day.

Let's talk... Japanese and Chinese-inspired Filipino food.

Because, we had lunch in a Japanese resto earlier. The whole california maki, katsudon and miso soup combo... ahhh, heaven. (^_^) So, big thanks to Jeth, Louie and Gab for eating with me!

I love sushi... and sashimi if it's from a really good restaurant. So we ate at this Japanese restaurant in front of La Salle, and they ARE good. I mean, don't compare them to the really famous ones in malls, because well they're good enough for students who are in a budget and who just want a quick taste of Japan.

They're california maki was weird though, there was this ingredient that really wasn't supposed to be there. Note: California maki usually consists of crab/crabstick, mango, avocado rolled with the nori inside and rice with fish roe (the orange thingies). But, the one we had earlier had I think it was tofu... so yea. weird... (o.O)
~Photo of the Day: How a California Maki should look like~

Katsudon, on the other hand, as everyone would probably know is actually just breaded pork or porkchop served with egg on top and some special sauce on the rice. Yum! And to think I paid PHP 135(around USD 3.11) for this porkchop, which could've been bought in another restaurant worth PHP 100(around USD 2.30), but it's all about the sauce... and it was worth it!

So why Chinese?

Well, that's what I just had this dinner. We had fried shanghai rolls and noodles. I say it that it's Chinese-inspired because I truly do believe that the Filipinos might have gotten it from them. See, most Chinese food snacks are inside a kind of wrapping... like siomai, spring rolls... dimsum. And, the noodles because well, they're the kind you find in Chinese restaurants. (^_^)

This is also in memory of Kevin's fail moment earlier in the day, which is what started this all.

Loves to eat with chopsticks,

i failed to sing a nursery rhyme today...

What are the childish things you still do EVEN though you claim that you're "all grown up"? (^_^)

Me, I still...
have stuff toys, though in a minimum.
eat cake as if they won't make me fat.
     play Neopets.
sing in front of the electric fan to hear my robot voice.
go to arcades and give my all, no matter how embarrassing.
have a messy room, no matter how many times I clean it up.
watch cartoons, I still know who Sagwa is.
     color in coloring books. (^_^)
     write to Santa Claus.
have our Scooby Doo and Winnie the Pooh blankets.

Childhood, such an easy time for most people...

Growing up, I had to move fast or else be left behind but I have to move even faster to be one of the front liners. Especially, now that times are getting tough I guess I could say that reaching adulthood is the beginning of the challenge round. You know, how our childhood is the How-To Round, our adulthood is the Challenge Rounds, and lastly seniority is the Bonus Round (originally, I wanted to call it the Elimination Round but...). (^_^)

So, now that I'm all grown up. Challenge One would be to reach these specifications: learn how to cook anything, pass accounting class, pass qualifying exam, and pass all other subjects with flying colors.

~Photo of the Day: Blue Flower~

Am envious of the chefs in Top Chef and Masterchef US. I will learn how to cook soon!

Awesome day at school by the way. (^o^) Cool activities for both speech class and art class, which are to be continued next meeting. Long story short, I'll be wearing business attire yet again. And since I've watched Shamcey for more than three times, a little letter to you Shamcey.

Dear Shamcey Supsup,
Because of you, my mom now believes that I should read the text three times like you did so I could pass accounting. I don't know if I should be happy about that... so, uhmm... yeah, maybe I'll try that. (-___-"")

Needs to read law three times,
AnaRay

reading stuff three times...
