May 14, 2012. Roadtrip to the North.

Though I had recently gone to Subic, my Lounge Kroo wanted to go up North again for the summer.

May 14 was a perfect time to actually go there 'cause I have to enroll in DLSU then they'd just pick me up on the way. There were four of us: me, Yani, Gabo and Mike.

It's been a long time since I've been in a roadtrip since my family usually takes trips to places that need a plane ride to get there.

The truth is, I was a bit nervous to get in the car. Yeah, they've all got them driver's license that I have yet to apply for but still... Manila to Bataan, isn't exactly a short trip. Since they came from the South, it would take three highways from there, or two highways from Manila. Totaling more or less 300km back and forth costing us waayyyy too much gas, and toll.

The trip in itself was fun and confusing, and tiring and frustrating as well. Fun because well, obviously, it's a roadtrip, foodtrip with Yani's Presto and laughtrip with Gabo's driving skills. See, this may probably be the first and last trip that I actually get to see a chicken cross the road, a bird fly in front of us, a dog suddenly crossing in front of us (almost costing us our noodles, literally) and a sudden loss of road. Thank God, Gabo got us through that alive. Even though we got lost more than a few times.

Upon arrival to the venue, I was happy to get out of the car and disappointed to see the place. It was truly run down and I wouldn't want to stay in it for an hour much less a 3D2N stay. So... no, thank you sir! But since we were already there, we thought of just looking at the places with the most promise and the "meh" places. We were happy to find the East West (first we saw after the disappointing house) and All Seasons (the last we saw before leaving with heavy hearts), both were good. But, we took the All Seasons because they offered us the whole resort exclusively.

On the way home from the Capitol, Mike took over the wheel and drove us back home. Not exactly the easiest thing, though we no longer have any chance of getting lost as much, there were no lights in the highway... plus, it was raining so badly... and, we were driving at nighttime. Though my best friend right there had driven these highways before at night, it still proves to be hard to go through with the lightning and rain.

This trip was tiring as hell, considering we all woke up early at around 6AM to get ready, we got home around 11PM and still we had to discuss a few things. I fell asleep in front of my laptop and was gone for the next few days.

I don't have the pictures yet because Yani hasn't uploaded the random pictures from the trip. Only those of the place that we will be staying in.

Peace and love from the South,
AnaRay

yes, there's such a big difference with the South and North of Luzon.

Tuesday

Fangirling on Legend of Korra.

Since I got home from the Subic trip with my friends, I've gone all out Korra-mode.

I can't express how much I loved the original series of Avatar: The Last Airbender (AtLA). So, waiting for the "sequel" that is Legend of Korra (LoK) is something that I was totally excited about. I mean, that is, next to the Toy Story 3 movie.

Thank you UrbanDictionary for the very accurate description of fangirling.

For the past 12 days, which I shall now call the "12 Days of Korra", was mostly dedicated to finding out leaks of the show, downloading the available episodes, rewatching the episodes because you know what, once a week is a torture. Having to wait every Saturday at 11PM (because I watch it alongside US streaming they have it at 11AM) is like waiting for Christmas to come around and this time I know I'll get something I want.

But before all the Korra-ness, I wanted to show you guys something I've stumbled upon while fangirling

That character's name is Analay, how close could it have been to my name?! AnaRay = Analay. Oh my gulay. She's a shadowbender and will most likely not appear in the series but I just found it fun. This image was released in a comic book that I have not seen, it's the connection between AtLA and LoK to summarize the whole comic.

So, that's what takes up most of my time. Tumblr, YouTube and all those other stuff just so I could watch and be in contact with other fans.

Yes, the boredom had taken a toll on me.

i did have some fun the next day. ^_^

April 30, 2012 - May 1, 2012. White Rock.

This is a super belated post because of reasons to be posted on the next post.

As well as it being the end of April, it is also the first trip I take up with my college friends on the way to White Rock to enjoy some of the summer sun. Though one of us wore so much sunblock as well as avoiding the sun at all costs.

Picture overload. Thanks to my fried Louie.

It's not everyday I commute for a very long trip. So getting on a bus felt like we were due for a field trip again. However, there were no professors to tell us what to and not to do. I can say that the trip to was a total snooze. Of course, that's what happens when your friends wake you up at 5am when you barely had any sleep the night before.

L-R: Me, Jiou, Brian, AJ, Mel, Michael, Zig and Louie.

From photos again and again, you'll notice there are only two of us girls for reasons I have no idea. I didn't participate so much in the planning of this trip so I just went with the flow. Side note, thanks to Brian and his mom for the welcoming lunch at their place, hihi. (^_^)

Is this Baldo or Mickey?

White Rock is a place that would be enjoyed by people of all ages. However, be very very careful at beach part because the rocks are very sharp and there are some random objects in there. I was really afraid of walking through that watery death trap because I've always been very careful of my legs, scratch that, my whole body. I don't think I have a scar on me.

Hair in Motion.

But still, that doesn't mean that I don't take up challenges. Like beach volleyball, honestly I suck at this. There were slides there, one that looked like a toilet bowl, a super steep slide where you skid on the water, and the seesaw slide that I was screamed my head of 'cause it was really weird. Then there was a pool with a few kayaks in it. The wave pool and there was a surfing pool but it wasn't available for our use. We ended our day trip in the beach with the kayaks.

Slide Mel, slide!

I hope... we don't fall.

Conquered the triangular thing-y.

After such a tiring day, we headed back to our hotel and had dinner at MeatPlus. It's a really good and affordable place for steak and stuff like that, you know a "man's" meal 'cause I really couldn't finish my meal. To wrap it all up, most of us had massages at Tonton Massage. The pajamas they gave were really comfy and I was doing some "waterbending" while there. I shushed by the staff because we were giggling too loudly.

If I didn't know that, I would've laughed my head off when the massage actually took place 'cause I'm really sensitive and I had to concentrate on not laughing. Thus, I was very very stiff, the lady had to tell me to "relax".

On the way home, I, along with Brian and Louie, had the opportunity to have some Pancake House, where I almost felt like puking rainbows. The others had taken into some watersports. We got to meet up with Brian's mom before we left the North to return to Manila. Also, got to watch some Legend of Korra.

Manila greeted us with heavy rainfall, a real downside to our sunny expedition. Taft Ave. was flooding up so thank God my dad actually got around to picking me up.

Plus... plus! I got to watch The Avengers when I got back to Alabang, where it was really dry.

That is a long post for two days,
AnaRay

so what been eating me for the past few days here at home? check it out on tomorrow's update.

April 29. 2012. BINGO?!

I got really lazy these past days because of one reason, which will cover an entire week.

However, this must be first taken into consideration.

Bingo.

Disclaimer: I do not own this photo. My photos won't upload, reasons unknown.

For the love of blahness, I spent three hours trying to win atleast a thousand pesos. Unfortunately, I did not win. I can't exactly say how evil it is to just sit there and wait for your numbers to be called.

I totally feel like I wasted that much time for calling random numbers. I got as close as four remaining numbers to win the Php 7,500 prize.

Continually posting today,
AnaRay

April 28, 2012. On the Way to the Party.

The title is a bit inspired of a Julia Quinn novel. As I am now on my fourth one.

Anyway, Arden's debut is the last in my barkada. The whole reason why I simpy COULD NOT miss the party even though I was somewhat sick on the plane ride home.

The real problem posed to be the outfit as usual. I completely forgot to allocate some time during my shopping to pick out a dress for the even. Thank God there are a lot lying around in our closets. These are the times I thank the dear Lord God that my mother works in the fashion industry. Though I did not inherit what one could call the "fashionista" aura.

Springing into action right after I've gotten home, I got myself fed, bathed and dressed. It was all good and splendid that the event would "start" at 8:30 in the evening, in reality it started around 10 since I arrived at a rather early 9:30. Filipino time is really baffling, isn't it?

an incomplete group shot, sorry guys!

What's a tad awful is that I did not have my camera with me. With all the bustling I forgot my camera in my other bag, and so had relied on the photographer and my friends' camera.

But, the post must go on.

I was a part of the 18 shots. And, I was really going to attempt to drink the one with the Tequila Rose because I have tasted it before, but when I tasted a portion of a syringe of it. I knew, I was gonna choke if I did. So, the lovely Jiselle, she's the super pretty and tall Korean girl in the picture, had given me the shot with a little less alcohol.

I really can't say that my friends had the opportunity of having a "clean" shot. Some of them choked due to the sudden spurt of the syringe's contents. And, it - let's just say it didn't really take a pretty picture.

The night was truly enchanting. As Domeng had his "moment" when the 18 roses had arrived. Someone should have videotaped that because it really was funny. He had the standard stem of rose with him, but behind him he had the pot of flowers from the table. Before giving up the rose, he threw it away and replaced it with the pot. Hilariously done, I couldn't stop myself.

This post is quite long, is it not? Well, a lot can happen when alcoholic drinks are flying around the venue. And I believe, the lot of us received some lap dances from our very own Janel. And everyone in LK knows, it isn't a debut 'til Janel does her sexy dances.

Well, the next post may come in the morrow, the pictures are already posted somewhere out there. But, I believe I do deserve some playtime with the little dogs here at home.

'Til then, this is what happens in three awfully busy days of mine.

currently, Cham has left the house and gone to Bora. she just may finally get her debut here upon her return...

April 26 - 28, 2012: The trip to Palawan.

Hello dear Readers!

Wherever you may be. I'm sorry for the delay but a lot has happened for the past seven days that posting it on the same day itself would be painstakingly hard.

Good news is that we really did get to Palawan though the cancelled flight had affected our plans dearly.

Upon arrival, we had checked in and left for the islands that host different wildlife and scenery, that are not best shown in pictures. When I got to the islands I felt like I was transported to a different part of the world because none of which could be seen elsewhere... well, from where I've traveled as of. I was really hoping to find some sea turtles, or sting rays, but nevertheless, I atleast found some barracudas and Nemo. And, you could find shipwrecks here, old battleships of the Japanese army, according to our boatman.

The corals were amazing, sad that I do not own a waterproof camera for it would've helped a bunch.

Here are a bunch of pictures.

I like the last picture most because I look tall. Thank you dad for not standing up.

Fun stories during our stay other than the islands and stuff...

1) The Missing Aqua Shoes. My brother lost the other half of his silver aqua shoes. We went looking for it for around an hour or so, but looking for it in the sea though between islands was a challenge. And after one hour, we had decided to just leave it. As bad as it seems to be. If someone finds it, fish it out please.

2) Grasshoppers. There was this one night we were in a cabana, searching up some dogs. I felt something jump on my hair, and I was frantically waving my arms over my head (while saying "there's something on my hair!") 'til it was gone. Suddenly though, Cham brings out her arm in front of me and shoves the grasshopper to my face... Thanks Cham, I was trying to get rid of it.

3) Cashews. Cashews are my most favorite nuts. And, we got to buy around a kilo worth of cashews for what my mother plans to do with it, I have no idea. I just took around two plastics worth for my own.

4) Shooed by the Fishes. While we were at the so-called "Banana Island", there were this fishes that didn't want me to come near the water. Literally when I stepped on the water, they'd swoop in and "attack" me. I ignored them little fishes and then the waves suddenly became stronger pushing me out of the water. I was telling my mom, "the water doesn't want me here!" And she told me, it was just timing. Then, when I went to the deeper end, the bigger fishes still were shooing me away. I left after that.

To end our Palawan trip, we got to our plane back home with just an hour delay. Which meant we got to Arden's Debut, with just a lot of time to rest, freshen up and get to the venue itself. But, that will be yet another post.

Typing up the next one!
AnaRay

i piled up so much "work" for today, i'm catching up!
